Young and Very Young Toddlers are known to be particularly responsive to music - this is a great time to begin sharing with your child something that could become a lifetime source of pleasure. We create a cosy and informal atmosphere, sitting on the floor together with parents (or often grandparents) and singing a song of welcome which includes everyone in the room as well as the motley selection of dolls and teddies which may just happen to come along. As the children progress the classes will be more energetic. Parents move into the background as the children gain in confidence and are more able to join in. A wider selection of music is introduced and they learn to use simple percussion instruments. They play along, dance and even dress up. At the end of the session - very importantly - they learn to put away their instruments, all of which stands them in good stead when they move on to enjoy music in all its wider forms. |

Children who choose to continue in music then have the whole range to consider: more formal instrumental lessons in groups or individually. Even the most humble beginner will have the opportunity to perform at regular intervals throughout the academic year, alongside more experience 'hardened campaigners'! |
