Listening, Enjoying, Learning

Music Appreciation Classes are going from strength to strength. The first term's course on Schubert saw marked increase in numbers at all centres and the second - CHOPIN IN PARIS - was even better attended, proving that there is an appetite for this immensely enjoyable way of learning and listening.

Last term's venues were:

Shaftesbury Arts Centre - Monday 10-11.30am

Bridport - The Chapel in the Garden, East Street - Wednesday 10-11.30am

Dorchester - The United Church, South Street - Wednesdays 2-3.30pm

Blandford - DRMS - Thursdays - 2.15-3.45pm

Swanage - Rectory classroom, St Mary's Church on Friday afternoons from 2.15-3.45

All courses run for 5 weeks so keep looking to see what is on offer for the next musical treat. In the meantime, see (below) the details of Duncan Honeybourne's forthcoming concert in the DRMS 'big room'.

To book a place or to find out more about future courses, contact DRMS by phone, email or post.

In the words of two members of last term's Bridport class who met on the Cobb in Lyme Regis: "We lamented that the Schubert course was over so soon and asked ourselves 'what do we do now on Wednesday mornings?'

ANSWER: - come along to the next course!

Of course.

DUNCAN HONEYBOURNE and CHOPIN

On Friday July 9th Duncan Honeybourne will be giving a recital of music by Chopin in the DRMS centre, Blandford. Duncan, who appears regularly on BBC Radio 3 and throughout the UK, is also a valued member of the DRMS teaching staff
